Cummins plans upgrades for low- to zero-carbon engines
Cummins, the engine and equipment manufacturer, is planning upgrades to its facilities across the US, including a power generation facility in Minnesota that Joe Biden recently toured. The upgrades are part of the company's efforts to develop low- to zero-carbon engines, including the manufacture of hydrogen electrolyzers, with an initial investment of $10 million at the Minnesota facility. Cummins is also investing $425 million in its plant in Jamestown, New York, for the production of the X15N engine, a fuel-agnostic, 15-liter internal combustion engine. The company is working to reduce emissions from heavy-duty trucks, which it said make up over half of such vehicles on US roads.
